Veteran Resource Representative/Liaison

 

Job Description:  LeapFox Learning, an adult IT school, is seeking a qualified Veteran Resource Representative/ Liaison. The Veteran Resource Representative will provide comprehensive enrollment and advising services to current and prospective veteran and active military students. The Representative will have knowledge of all LeapFox IT programs, including the application, enrollment, orientation, and job placement processes. The representative will have a singular focus of helping veterans complete their training so they can get hired or promoted.  They will assist in setting educational goals, monitoring progress, and job placement. The individual will help connect the veterans with appropriate institutional, local, state, and federal resources that address veteran challenges and provide opportunities. The Representative will also work with local employers to help fill positions with qualified candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Work with existing and new veterans to identify and fulfill their training needs
  • Have the ability to work independently and analytically, exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple projects; strong planning and organizational skills
  • Associates Degree or Certification or a combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff, including those from diverse backgrounds
  • Previous experience demonstrating strong leadership abilities, influencing others in a positive manner while achieving goals, and effectively communicating ideas and generating support for ideas
  • Familiarity with the needs of student veterans and/or non-traditional student populations
  • Deep understanding of military/veteran culture and experiences

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience
  • Strong knowledge of Veterans Benefit Programs
  • Sales or IT Experience

LeapFox Instructor, Level 2 Senior or Technical Instructor

Job Description:
As a LeapFox Senior Technical Instructor your primary goal is to ensure students leave your class with new skill-sets and confidence to do their job better.   Many of your students will be working adults who have had their employers pay for them to attend 1-5 days of training to help them learn new skills or maximize the skills they currently have.   You will also teach adults who are attending evening classes to improve their IT skills so they can begin or grow their career as an Information Technology Professional.  Most of your classes are evening classes with 5-12 students in a computer lab setting.  You will also work 1-2 days/ week teaching an application class to end users.   You will work as a member of a well-organized team of professionals who work hard and enjoy what they do.

Knowledge Needed:

  1.  Instructor will be able to deliver the following classes:
  • A+
  • Network +
  • Security +
  •  Cisco, Microsoft Server, or CEH
  • Level 1 Microsoft Office courses (Excel, Word, Outlooks, etc.)
  1. Instructor will have intermediate to advanced computer technical skills
  2. Instructor will have an MCSA , CCNA or equivalent certification

 

Skills Needed:

  1.  Instructor will have excellent class management by doing the following:
  • Manage class logistics
  • Check for student understanding
  • Create an authentic, entertaining, and interactive classroom culture
  • Provide relevant training experiences
  • Manage different levels of learners
  • Use multimedia and visuals to enhance learning
  • Build rapport with the students
  • Be a problem solver and improvise as needed
  1. Instructor will be an excellent communicator
  • Use professional speech and grammar
  • Adjust with appropriate tone and tempo
  • Succeed in written and oral conversations
  • Understand and use DiSC personality profiles

Schedule
30-40 hours/ week.  Schedules vary but are generally 4-9 PM Monday- Friday

Pay
$20-$32 per hour plus PTO and 10 paid days off each year after 90 days of employment

 

Microsoft Computer Instructor


Job Description

As a LeapFox computer teacher your primary goal is to ensure students leave your class with new skill-sets and confidence to do their job better.   The majority of you students will be working adults who have had their employers pay for them to attend 1-2 days of training to help them learn new skills or maximize the skills they currently have.   Most of your classes are full-day courses with 5-12 students in a computer lab setting.  You will work as a member of a well-organized team of professionals who work hard and enjoy what they do.

Requirements    
Applicants must be:

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and basic computer skills
  • Have excellent classroom management skills
  • Communicate effectively to students via presentation, one-on-one teaching, and email
  • Be patient, flexible, and enthusiastic in the classroom
  • Experienced  teaching in a lab or classroom setting (This is preferred, but not necessary)

 

Compensation
$14-$25 per hour depending on experience and certification
Annual continuing education and certification stipend

Job Description

As a LeapFox Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant your primary goal is to provide a great customer experience for students attending class.   You will be responsible for greeting students, handling schedules, managing class materials, and various administrative tasks.

Requirements    
Applicant must be:

  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Friendly, helpful, and interested in others.
  • Communicate effectively to staff and students orally and via email.
  • Be patient, flexible, and happy as you orient new students.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is helpful, but not necessary.
