Free Windows 10 Book

Fri, 2015-08-28 02:31 -- scott

Microsoft released a free ebook on Windows 10 on their Virtual Academy website a few months back.  The book is titled, "Introducing Windows 10 for IT Professionals, Preview Edition".  If you are new to Windows 10, this is a great book for the IT Professional to get a basic overview.  From what our team has seen thus far Windows 10 appears to be a completely fixed version of Windows 8.  So you are likely going to consider upgrading at some point.  Click the image below to download the book.

Get up when you fall

Wed, 2015-06-03 09:23 -- codi

In the last six months I have had a couple of wrecks on my mountain bike.  My husband says that I have dangerous friends and need to stop biking with them.  But I love to bike and think it is important to get up and try again when we fall.  So here are a few of my favorites stories of people getting up when they fall.

Ultra Power Save Mode

You know that annoying beep from your phone that indicates you are running out of batteries?  What a fun spoiler that sound is!  I have a Galaxy S5 and my phone lasts about a day and a half on batteries; so I don't run low on batteries very often.  But the other day I forgot to charge my phone at night and I woke up in the morning with low batteries.  Around noon I heard the

Amateur video editing

More and more people are getting into video editing.  Here are some video editing options for the amateur.

Adobe Premier…$799
Topping the price chart on our list is Adobe Premier.  Premier is edging closer to professional studio grade video editing software with every release.  Premier does more and hence has a steeper learning curve.  For those familiar with the Adobe Suite of products, choosing Premier is a no brainer.  With the recent creative cloud pricing, you can pick up Premier as part of the entire suite for as low as $29.95/mo.

Windows 10 preview is out

Mon, 2014-11-10 12:24 -- scott

The Windows 10 Preview is out and we are really excited to see Microsoft is brining back the start menu.  The interface formerly known as "Metro" seems to be gone and there is no option to even bring it back.  Rather the new start menu is a mix of the traditional Windows 7 start menu plus the Windows 8 Metro start screen.

Things I love and hate about Outlook 2013

Hate the default color scheme
Out of the box Microsoft did a very poor job on the default color scheme of Outlook 2013.  The default colors are so washed out there is hardly any contrast between the folders and the emails.  I hate it and definitely recommend changing your Office Theme immediately.  Click File and  then options.  Then use the drop down list to select Dark Gray for the Office Theme.

Love the quick delete option
